A few years ago, I realized that the traditional, single-country blueprint wasn’t going to cut it for my family anymore. I wanted more financial flexibility, better global mobility, and above all, an environment where my children could grow up as open-minded, resilient, and bilingual global citizens.
Making that leap wasn’t easy. Navigating cross-border banking, international tax rules, residency applications, and finding reliable healthcare abroad proved to be a endless puzzle. Most expat advice online was either targeted at early-twentysomething digital nomads backpacking with a single laptop, or retired couples looking for a quiet beach town.
There was very little practical, no-nonsense advice built specifically for modern fathers taking their families global.
That’s why I created Modern Expat Dad.
